Charity Football Match

  • City Beach Oval Fred Burton Way City Beach, WA, 6015 Australia (map)

forever15 has established a committee to coordinate an annual football match in honour of 15 year old Will Atkinson, a talented footballer, who tragically passed away in 2013 with brain tumour. Will was very close and dear to our community’s heart and we feel the timing is right to honour Will and raise awareness for a fantastic cause.

The forever15 football match will run every year as a regular event. This game is a chance to remember a great young man who we all dearly miss; moreover it will give the boys/mates who knew, played football and went to school with Will the opportunity to come back every year to honour their mate by participating in a fun day and a game he loved.

The Annual game will be known as forever15 and is to be conducted as a “Friends in Support Cure for Brain Cancer” all monies raised with this event will be donated to the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.

We are proud to announce our major sponsor Paul Tonich Altitude Real Estate who also sponsored the memorial match between the Western Tigers and Wembley Downs Cats in 2013. We also welcome the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation who will be the recipient for all funds raised. And a big thankyou to West Coast Amateur Football Club who have kindly donated their City Beach oval as the venue.

The 2015 forever15 twilight game will be held this year under lights Saturday 10th October at City Beach Oval (Fred Burton Way) commencing at 4.30pm, bounce down will be 5.30pm.

There will be two teams of up to 30 players each team, the game will be 4 x 15min quarters and played in a friendly spirit.

New jumpers will be provided for both teams, these have been designed to incorporate Subiaco JFC, Hale School, Sydney Swans and Hawthorn all relevant to Will and his family. Jumpers and polo’s will be on sale by order and all funds will be donated to Cure for Brain Cancer.

Registration for players and friends is with Sporting Pulse here. reg.sportingpulse.com/v6/regoform.cgi?formID=50143

All boundary, goal umpires, and coaches will be provided. Fellowship and a function will be ongoing after the game, which will include a well-anticipated auction.

The Altitude Cup used in the original memorial game will be presented to the winning team.

We have all made a commitment to remember Will Atkinson and what better way than a game of footy. This game will be played every year to maintain the bond between a group of mates and to reflect on times past.

This is an opportunity to raise awareness for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and to financially support a worthy cause.

We look forward to your support and we look forward meting you with a big turnout at our first game.
