“Brain cancer kills more children than any other disease in Australia. It also kills more people under 40 in Australia than any other cancer. Yet very little is known about brain cancer, its causes or how to treat it.”
- Cure Brain Cancer Foundation
forever15 is a foundation established to raise awareness and bring support to the brain cancer community. We have established a committee to coordinate an annual football match in honour of Will Atkinson, a talented footballer, who tragically passed away in 2013 to a brain tumour at the age of 15. This story is very close to the Subiaco community’s heart.
The inaugural forever15 match took place under the lights at City Beach Oval on 10th October 2015, raising more than $30,000 for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
It will continue run as an annual event, giving the community a chance to remember a great young man who we all dearly miss; moreover it gives the boys who knew, played football and went to school with Will the opportunity to reconnect and remember their mate by participating in a game he loved.
All proceeds raised on from forever15 matches will be donated to the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation to help fund research to fight against brain cancer. For more information please visit https://www.curebraincancer.org.au/
